Background
Bethany Chapel began around 1945 when a small group of Christians decided to meet together to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. By the grace of God, we remain committed to exalting the Lord Jesus in our meetings, as well as in our individual lives.
Bethany Chapel has never been affiliated with a denomination; rather, we welcome anyone who has received the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her Savior from sin, and who seeks to obey God's Word, the Bible.
Meetings and Events
The Lord's Supper | Sun, 9:30-10:15am
At the first meeting, we reverently celebrate the Lord's Supper in an open, participatory worship service. Several men will lead the Christians in worship through hymns, prayer, and scripture readings, culminating in the Lord's Supper. (See 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.)
Fellowship | Sun, 10:15-10:45 am
Next, we spend time fellowshipping in the gymnasium behind the main building. This is a great time to get to know each other or visit over a cup of coffee or a snack.
Sunday School | Sun, 10:45-11:30 am
During Sunday School, we dig into the Bible, studying one of its books, passages, or themes over an extended period of time. Teens and adults meet together for one class, while younger children have their own class time.
Bible Ministry | Sun, 11:35 am-12:15 pm
This service is much like a traditional Bible preaching service. Each week, one of the men in our assembly, or a visiting speaker, will share a message from God's Word.
Prayer Meeting | Wed, 6:30-7:30 pm
On Wednesdays we start with a brief devotional, share prayer requests, and then divide into small groups to spend time in prayer. (Do you have a need you want us to pray for? Let us know here and we'd be glad to pray for you!)
Dress
On Sundays, we generally dress between business casual and formal. (We're a bit more casual on Wednesdays.) Our focus isn't on establishing an arbitrary outward standard - we realize that a person's heart is more important than his outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7). Instead, we try to dress in a neat and modest way that shows our reverence for God. We encourage visitors to do the same.
Accommodations
Parents are welcome to keep small children with them during any service, though a nursery is available for use at any time. On most Sundays, a separate Sunday School class is available for children.
Personal listening devices are available to assist those with hearing impairment.
